It's been good but I am still experiencing minor pain:

November 28,1998
I have had a pretty good go at it since the last time I have written to all of you !!!!
The E-mails that I have received have been a tremendous help for a mess of people that have
asked me about Back surgery. The people that have written me have had a great bearing on
whether or not to keep this site going.
I finished my Softball Seasons and all went pretty good.
I finished my fall snowflake season at the top!!!!We won First place  and I finally got to hold a trophy.
I played center field most of the way so I didn't have to dive too much.I ended with a pretty good average for fast pitch but there is room for improvement.
My back has been acting up once in awhile but for the most part it is better than before I had the operation!!!
I am currently still having pain at times but it is not as bad as it was.
I am still taking pills but I am doing it day to day.It really depends on how I wake up in the morning.
At this point I am currently not as active as I usually am so hopefully it will give it some time to heal up
a little better .
I think I made a mistake by going back to work so early and playing softball but I couldn't stand sitting and doing nothing.
I urge you all that are having operations not to be so active after because I think I am paying fore it now!!!
Take it slow and it should heal fine!!
I am currently looking at other options that I have and as soon as I get more info. on it I will pass it along to all
of you.I am happy at this point with the operation but I know it isn't done.I still feel that it will never go away.
Well, until next time I will try to e-mail everyone that e-mails me but be patient.
Thanks,
Craig

Hello everyone
I would like to start by saying thanks to all who have reviewed this site and have given me a mess of material to use for my site. All the great reviews are definitely taken to heart and I really appreciate it.
I have been taking my med's on a daily basis and do not see an end yet.
My mornings are still the same as they were  the last time and still need the pills to get me going.
By no means am I saying that the operation didn't work but I will say that if you do not give it time to heal then it will not heal.
I definitely went back to work too fast after my operation and felt that I was free to do whatever I wanted.
I hope that all will learn from this because it is the reason I am not getting to 100%.
I am still about 75% and I do not see me getting to 100%.
I started the operation at about 50% before the operation so I figure I am about 25% better than I was before.Hey,it's something.
I do not want to tell people not to get the operation but on the other hand you should take a look at all your options to see if you really do need to get one.
I took the operation route because I am very  active and play softball so the extra 25% is better than nothing.
I feel better than before the operation but not as good as I want.
I am hoping to hear from more people to get more info on better procedures than the one I had but I have not had the time to do so.
I have a few more pages to add to my links so keep a watch out for them on my Back-O-Meter page.
Until next time,

Feburary 13,2000
The pain is somewhat subsiding and I am currently skipping my meds for now.I am starting to go day by day to see if the pain is still there.I find that on days that it is cold it seems to act up the most. Not too bad though just uncomfortable to deal with.Days with bad weather and moisture seem to make it flare up but I am still able to get by on a daily basis.I still take the Ultram but not as much.
I am just about as close to 100% that I think I am going to get but we will see.
I pretty much rate myself at about 95% with the small pain that I get on specific days.
I have received a bunch of E-Mails pertaining to the differences between my operation and other types of operations done on the spine.I am not a doctor or anywhere near qualified to give advice on different procedures that are similar or related.I am just a statistic unfortunately so I can only help by stating what I have been through personally. If I do not answer your E-Mails it probably means I couldn't help you!
I really didn't expect so many E-Mails but I do appreciate getting them. It's just too darn hard to answer all of them with a full time job.
It is amazing that the procedures seem to be getting better but very hard to find information on all of this back stuff.I research everything and come up with nothing because the articles are either out dated or they just plain stink.I am doing my best to get all the best info on back pain so be patient.
